Community Fund now taking applications for 2019
Last year Construction Materials Online helped people and communities around the UK through its community fund. CMO is now taking applications for 2019.
The fund exists for projects which drive innovation and education in the construction industry, and those which help develop better communities.
It launched in July 2018. Since then, it has supported ten projects and donated over £4000 worth of materials.
Awards were made to initiatives which support the homeless. These include the Carbon Byte tiny home shelters in Scotland and a ‘Thermo Shelter’ designed by architect Sam Mitson.
CMO supported a women’s football team. An award was also made to a men’s shed project, which brings men together to alleviate loneliness. It supported a music project working with young people in Cornwall, and a new community building for Holy Trinity Church in Lambeth, South London.
It helped provide gardens young children to access forest school activities and supported innovation in architecture through a collaboration with Cardiff University architecture students.
The fund is a resource to which charities and other worthwhile causes can apply to help pay for construction materials for their projects.
The CMO Community Fund is now accepting applications for 2019.
