PR Coordinator, Plymouth

Construction Materials Online is a national, online supplier of building materials which are sold across three industry-leading eCommerce stores. As the company is expanding, we are seeking a self-motivated and experienced PR Coordinator to join our growing team based at our head office in Plymouth.
The PR Coordinator will use a range of media and communications to help manage the reputation (online and offline) of Construction Materials Online and its eCommerce brands.
Some of the main duties include:
- Plan, develop and implement PR strategies in collaboration with the Marketing Director, external PR agency and the marketing team
- Provide the central point of communication between our PR agency, colleagues and key spokespeople to ensure all press comment is delivered professionally and in line with company views
- Assist our PR agency by providing all supporting information/assets for press releases, as well as editing and approving content in line with company views and brand values
- Create and maintain a library of content for reuse across all relevant communication channels, both internal and external
- Write, co-ordinate and edit our company magazine, blog posts, case studies, speeches, internal communications, promotional videos, articles and reports
- Co-ordinate an annual programme of case studies with predefined target audiences
- Devise and organise photo opportunities
- Organise events including exhibitions, open days and press tours
- Maintain and update editorial / newsworthy information on the company websites alongside the marketing team
- Generate positive engagement with users on social media sites and market-related forums alongside the marketing team
- Manage responses to public reviews (e.g. Trustpilot and Google) in collaboration with our Store Managers
- Source sponsorship and speaking opportunities
- Assist in writing award entries
- Develop local community relations through events and community initiatives
- Provide proof reading support to the marketing team
- Evaluation of media activity and coverage
The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of PR and PR strategies and have experience of using social media networks for business use. The PR Coordinator will hold a degree, HND or equivalent in a related area of study. Previous experience in a PR or Marketing role is desirable along with experience of liaising with the media and journalists. Knowledge and experience of using Hootsuite, wordpress, Google analytics and Trustpilot would be advantageous.
