Construction Materials Online secures £8.65m investment
Construction Materials Online has secured investment from private equity house Key Capital Partners (KCP). This investment is the 16th made by KCP since its launch in 2007.
KCP’s Mike Fell and Philip Duquenoy join the board of Construction Materials Online, alongside operations director Callum Tasker, technical director Chris Dorey, eCommerce director Adrian Saunders and marketing director Liz Orgill.
The board will also be joined by former Gear4Music chairman Dean Murray, who will act as chairman for Construction Materials Online, leading the company through its next growth stage. Dean commented: “KCP has a strong track record in growing online businesses in niche areas and Construction Materials Online needed a partner able to provide the capital, expertise and experience to take a successful eCommerce business to the next stage of its development, just as KCP has done so successfully with previous investments such as Gear4Music”.
Dean Murray worked with Gear4Music between 2012 and 2016, during which time sales grew from £10m to over £55m, with the business valued at over £73m by the time KCP realised its remaining stake.
Construction Materials Online has experienced significant growth over the past 8 years and this investment secures plans to accelerate revenue growth and product expansion, providing new opportunities for the company and its suppliers.
