Amendments and changes to UK Building Regulations 1st October 2015
As you may or may not be aware, the Building Regulations for the UK have been amended as of 1st October 2015. Scotland, England and Wales all have new provisions for building regulations including on water usage per person, storm water drainage and enhanced security in dwellings. Scotland in particular is focussing on the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by changing the maximum u-value backstops for new buildings.
The amendments follow the recent updating in March this year of The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 that removes the maximum fine limit of £5000 for breaches to the Building Regulations.
